Day of reflection on the SCALE initiative: All for an inclusive and secure environment for key populations in Togo
As part of the SCALE initiative, the Cupid Network and various stakeholders involved in health, development and human rights met in a brainstorming workshop on 29 October 2024 in Lomé on achieving the UNAIDS 10*10*10 targets. This workshop is an opportunity to raise awareness of the rights of key populations and deliver the various specific messages relating to the social and behavioural barriers that prevent all citizens from enjoying their fundamental rights, including sexual minorities.
Objectives:
To bring the different stakeholders to better understand the importance of an enabling environment for all and in particular for sexual minorities;
To ensure that participants have a good knowledge of the needs and vulnerability of key populations;
To reflect on security issues and the increase in prevalence among key populations
Expected results:
Increased awareness among participants on the importance of an inclusive and enabling environment for all;
Strengthened understanding of the unique challenges faced by key populations;
Collective commitment to develop actions to reduce stigma and improve the safety and well-being of MSG and PLHIV.
Why support this initiative?
Discrimination and hostility towards key populations prevent access to care and increase health risks for all of society. Together, we can create safe spaces, ensure equal treatment and promote dignity for every citizen. #CUPIDON #PEPFAR #UNDP #RightsForAll #TogoInclusif #HealthAndRights
